First and foremost, I am a child of the King.

I will be the first to tell you I am undeserving of the grace and forgiveness I have received.  It is this recognition that makes me eager to walk ever deeper into an authentic relationship with the resurrected Savior who provided that grace and forgiveness.

Next, I am a husband and a father.

I am married to the love of my life, Brooke, and together we have four children: Jude, Gambrell (Brell), Hope, and Parker.

As an author, I am focused on helping readers recognize the face of Jesus.

I am passionate about inspiring others to summon the courage to move beyond an intellectual pursuit of God and into a dynamic, authentic discovery of Him.  I write with a constant mind toward pointing readers back into a personal and interactive walk with their Savior.  It is a journey that I myself am taking, and hope to share with my readers.

As a public policy professional:

I am the Founder and President of Every Good Work, which exists to equip Jesus followers for a life of impact. My wife, Brooke, and I also co-founded A Fearless Life, which works to find and fund a family for every adoption-eligible foster child in America. Prior to founding Every Good Work, I served for more than 20 years in high level public policy positions, with a particular focus on the U.S. Congress and the United Nations. I have been privileged to regularly share the joy of Jesus, as well as discuss pressing public policy matters, via tv and radio.

My recreational passions include...

the Chicago Cubs, all things outdoors, triathlons (only the short variety), and a bit of woodworking (a passion inherited from my grandpa).

I hail from the cornfields of Central Illinois and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from National Louis University. Our family lives in Accokeek, Maryland, where we are grateful to be a part of the National Community Church family in Washington, D.C.
